Dawid Żynda
Artist and designer working primarily in ceramics, PhD in fine arts. He works at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław in the Studio of Intermedia Activities in Ceramics. He creates sculptures, installations, and functional objects inspired by the cosmos and contemporary science. He has participated in over 50 national and international exhibitions. Recipient of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage “Young Poland” scholarship. His practice combines design experience with advanced technological knowledge of ceramic processes.
In my work I explore themes of gravity, mass and void, drawing inspiration from the cosmos and contemporary science. Through ceramic sculpture and installation, I investigate relationships between weight and lightness, presence and disappearance.
I work mainly on the pottery wheel, using it both as a tool and a source of inspiration, exploring centrifugal force. I shape stoneware and porcelain, experimenting with texture and form, and fire them in my own hybrid kilns, blending tradition with innovation.
