Product description

“Weather Phenomena” series consists of unique ceramic sculptures inspired by the intensity of cloud-related phenomena, the light that influences them, as well as the diversity of their colors and forms. All of these pieces take the form of silhouettes composed of elements reminiscent of architectural structures. They reflect the relationship between nature and the human-shaped urban environment. “Stormy Cloud I” was created during the International Ceramic Symposium “Alternatively Ceramics” in 2025 and is one of a kind.

Technique

This work was created using the slab-building technique. It is covered with a “Carbon Trap Shino” glaze and was fired in a wood-fired soda kiln in a reduction atmosphere. Tiny crystals formed on the surface of the glaze during the firing process.
