Product description

MOUNTAINS – large panorama is a handwoven kilim inspired by raw mountainous landscape. The tapestry is available in two different sizes: 150×70 cm (4.9×2.3′) or 200×100 cm (6.6×3.3′). The yarn used in the weaving process comes from a small sustainable farm surrounded by Beskidy mountains in the south of Poland. The wool is raw, non-dyed, in the natural sheeps’ fleece color.

Each kilim is signed; bear a serial number and names of designer and maker.

The kilim has sewn-in metal rings so it’s ready to hang on the wall. Please notice that colours and details in reality may vary slightly. It’s due to the differences in shades of natural yarn batches and the technique of hand weaving which makes every product unique.

Technique

Every Tartaruga’s product was hand woven in traditional kilim technique in our studio in Łódź. That’s why we can guarantee ethicality of the whole production process. One of the most precious values for us is a work of human hands. Long hours that we as craftsmen spend with every item we make. We believe, that every handcrafted item has a hidden story, that begins in the workshop and then continues in the hands of its owner. All of our products are made with the ultimate attention to detail. The raw materials were chosen precisely to get the best possible properties.

How to use

Kilim can be delicately vacuumed. Dry clean if necessary.
Tartaruga
Tartaruga is a small weaving studio founded in Łódź, Poland in 2017 by Jadzia Lenart and Wiktoria Podolec. They focus on handwoven contemporary kilims, rugs and wall hangings. All of our products are handmade with traditional tools and techniques. Most of the products are made of recycled yarns. Designs are inspired by the closest surrounding of the designers: nature and favourite objects, daily rituals or colors. Despite the designs are rather contemporary, they refer to the very rich kilim tradition and symbolism.
