Product description

For a long time, I had envisioned creating an object born from the meeting of two distinct media – ceramics and textile. With the support of Katarzyna Łozicka-Matkowska (Synthetic 100% Natural), an object was created that combines delicate porcelain with soft fabric. Recycled strips of material intertwine with illuminated porcelain cylinders – each bearing a unique pattern. Two contrasting materials interlace like strands of DNA, forming a cohesive structure built on the tension between the hardness of porcelain and the softness of fabric.

Dwa odmienne materiały splatają się niczym nici DNA, tworząc spójną strukturę zbudowaną z napięcia między twardością porcelany a miękkością tkaniny.

Technique

The shades were cast in porcelain. Each of them has a unique, unrepeatable texture created from paper fragments. They are mounted on a metal structure. The final stage of the process involved suspending strips of fabric on the porcelain sleeves and the metal structure.
A ceramist by accident – he wanted to become a graphic designer, became a ceramist instead, and never regretted it.
He graduated from the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, where in 2000 he received his diploma in artistic ceramics, with an additional specialization in painting. He creates original ceramic works, including functional objects, sculptures, and ceramic installations. He works with clay in an intuitive way, combining traditional techniques – wheel throwing, hand-building, and casting – with experimentation and an openness to chance, which often becomes an essential part of the creative process. Alongside his ceramic practice, he is also engaged in graphic design. He has created posters for Polish feature films, as well as catalogs and visual identity systems. He runs his own ceramic studio in Przyszowice, in the Silesia region.
