Meteorites from a series of four unique works, created in collaboration with Anna Szaflarski.
Product description
The works were created in collaboration with Anna Szaflarski for the exhibition It Filled Wells It Pleased the Pools in 2019. They accompanied a series of enlarged vessels, ‘giant’ vessels. The irregular shapes of vases, plates, mugs, and meteorites mimic the properties of the material from which they are made. The plasticity of the clay allows the shape of each object to be freely modeled, making every piece unique.
The external irregularities reflect the chaos and unclear processes occurring on distant planets.
Technique
Hand-built using the coil technique with stoneware clay.
A graduate of the ceramics department of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Uniwersity of Fine Arts in Poznań. She gained practical knowledge in ceramics workshops in Great Britain, France, Denmark, and South Korea. A lecturer at the School of Form. Co-founder of the August Design Studio. In her works she deals with the topics of time and tradition. She is interested in traditional techniques and their impact on the modern human environment. She was a participant of many Polish and international exhibitions.
