Aliona Kryshtofik
Aliona Kryshtofik is an artist specializing in porcelain and functional ceramics. She holds a degree in Industrial Design from the University of Arts in Poznan. Her work includes geometric porcelain sculptures and a series of utilitarian vessels. During her studies, she began researching form and texture. Pays most attention to the technology and quality of the works she creates. Took part in numerous residencies and exhibitions. Is a member of KERAMOS Association of Ceramic Artists and ZPAP. Working in Warsaw.
My source of inspiration is memory and material. The memory of porcelain crockery in cupboards, of communal celebrations that shaped the past. And a material that never gives up, allowing new stories to be created.
I am constantly exploring porcelain in my work. I experiment with technology, shape and texture to achieve subtle and complex effects. I am fascinated by the life the material takes in the kiln, revealing its true nature. Each project is created from scratch - from plaster molds to precisely planned layers, shaping the final result.
