P55 Mirrors
P55 Mirrors, Beata Ludwin and Łukasz Wołek. Designer artisan mirror workshop. In operation since 2020 in Torun. We have been working together for some time now, we both studied at the Faculty of Arts at University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun, Beata – art conservation, Łukasz - sculpture. Various experiences in the field of visual and design activities gave rise to our work together. We connect common interests with different sensibilities. We observe, listen and talk. This is how our mirrors come to life – each marked with a signature design and individually developed, and therefore one of a kind.
With a deep reflection from the beginning to the end. We approach ourselves from the outside, tentatively looking into the mirror, holding the first reflected image.
We manufacture our mirrors entirely by hand in traditional glass-making and gilding techniques, constituting not only the basis but also the area of new interpretations and searches. Pouring silver or gilding the glass with gold leaf requires precision and focus. An equally important element of the work is the freedom of design - a creative process that determines the individual character of every single mirror.
