Product description

This gentle, hand-woven decorative fabric forms a striped composition based on smooth tonal transitions that create a gradient effect – from light, warm shades of beige at the top to deeper, cooler greys at the bottom of the piece.

Individual sections vary in structure and density, creating a rhythmic arrangement of textures.

The central element of the piece is an openwork band of loosely hanging threads, revealing their structure before they are woven into the warp to form an orderly whole.

Technique

The fabric was woven on a four-shaft loom and serves as a study of the various traditional weaves that can be achieved using four heddles.

How to use

The fabric is designed to be hung on the wall. A sewn-in rod makes it easy to hang it on nails.
Born in 1995, architect, designer and weaver. Graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology. She gained experience in weaving from Polish weavers and through independent practice. Since 2023, she has been designing and producing fabrics under the Momo brand. She creates individual, unique kilims and tapestries. She combines weaving with an architectural approach, using design tools, structural thinking and the principles of composition. Based on a basic plain weave, she often creates patterns whose character is defined by the interrelationships between two-colour weft threads. Following the specificity of her chosen medium, she creates works characterised by restraint and distinct rhythm.
