The Nów. New Craft Association invites you to the launch of the X NÓW project, a series of exhibitions in selected shop windows on Koszykowa and Mokotowska Streets in Warsaw. 

 For the next two months, the windows of Bęc Zmiana Bookstore, GaliLu Perfumery, Lukullus and Kukułka Confectioneries, Przegryź Restaurant, and the clothing stores LEBRAND and The Odder Side will become temporary exhibition spaces. Here, we present objects by representatives of “new craft” from across Poland – artisans working in wood, glass, ceramics, and textiles. The exhibitions function both as spaces for commercial and museum practices, while the artistic interventions complement or engage in dialogue with the existing layouts and urban fabric. They remain accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Craft – both traditional and so-called “new craft”, as well as that created using new technologies – has, for several years in the Western European context, ceased to be a peripheral and isolated area of interest for culture enthusiasts. It is now deeply rooted in the mainstream of the art scene. The aim of the Nów. New Craft Association is to initiate and develop this process in Poland – ensuring a continuous presence of Polish craftswomen and craftspeople on the artistic and institutional scene, as well as in public spaces that are democratic and accessible to everyone.
