Kalina Bańka-Kulka

A graduate of the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław. Since 2013 she has worked at the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass. Doctoral degree, 2020. She taught a glass class on Urban Glass in NY, Bildwerk Frauenau in Germany, Pilchuck Glass school in the USA. She has had 12 individual exhibitions and participated in several dozen glass and design exhibitions and competitions in Poland and abroad (among others Laureate of the Corning Museum of Glass in New York NEW GLASS REVIEW 38 in 2016).

In my works, I refer to important and current topics of emptiness and accumulation to social and economic phenomena. Currently, I create personal and sentimental projects related to family relationships, using a delicate material such as glass, referring to the fragility of life - the hypersensitivity of women in the generational chain.
She creates unique glass objects, which she presents of site-specific installations, using a variety of techniques; classic hand-painted stained glass, fusing, slumping, screen printing. She also creates unique objects in single or short series using hot glass techniques.
